Determining deck height and spacing. Above are two "sketches" with notes that illustrate how I have been revising and revisiting to help me finalize my deck heights and inter-deck spacing. The data below represents my efforts to utilize established deck height and spacing dimensions ( gleaned from Doug Iverson, Tony Koester, and Bill Schneider) and try to work them into my M&P....without having to utilize a "sky hook" to reach the top deck at Belair! The rail height number in brackets, [63"], represents the height of a particular deck if I removed the wheels from the Craftsman tool chest. Not much of a gain, so I am currently thinking about building 8-10" high , wide based movable platforms to operate the Belair deck. The rail heights likely will be established as begin to build upward from Baltimore staging.

Construction Photographs
At left and below are early study views of the Fallston LDE. After all, I would like to railfan this model railroad, since I wasn't around for the real one!
Note the studs of the under construction garage door end of the space. I lost some real estate at this end and thus had to move the 24" radius helix inside the wall. When facing the still to be sheathed wall, Vale, Maryland will be at the same level as Fallston but is along the right-hand wall. More to come as I get into the garage to work! Well it has happened......actual construction progress! Don't bother me, I am resting from all the work. Oh well.... you may bother me. Cheers.

Finally some progress. But I could not resist printing some Peco turnout templates, stealing a 9" picnic plate (turntable of course) and positioning some rolling stock....even photoshopped a bit of fascia...... Ma & Pa dreaming!!!
